Electronic music’s explosion owes a great deal to futurist techno maestro Richie Hawtin. Not only has he made and played some of the most forward-thinking techno music ever, but he’s had a hand in driving some of the most crucial technological developments to have enhanced our scene over the past two decades. His contribution to the digital realm is immense — his obsession with exploring the future possibilities of technology have seen him play a major part in the growth of digital DJing, helping to revolutionise the way that music is played and presented.

PLAYdifferently, the technology company created by Richie Hawtin, unveiled two new product videos about their award-winning mixer MODEL 1 yesterday, just in time to promote a series of events taking place at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event.

London's XOYO has announced an incredible array of talent for Heidi's forthcoming Jackathon residency.

The Canadian-born, London-based star, who learned her trade in the record shops of the UK capital before landing a residency on BBC Radio 1 in the mid-2000s, set up her Jackathon party brand in 2009. 

Having toured it around the globe, Heidi now brings Jackathon back to London from October to December, hosting the crème de la crème of house and techno every Friday night.

RIchie Hawtin and Andy Rigby-Jones have today announced two new DJ ambassadors and one live act for its PlayDifferently MODEL1 mixer.

Nicole Moudaber, Paco Osuna and Matador join Chris Liebing, Dubfire, Loco Dice and Richie Hawtin as they tour the globe with the new MODEL1 mixer, bringing a new level of sound and performance capabilities to clubs and music spaces around the world.

The MODEL1 mixer has gone down a storm since it was unveiled NAMM, with glowing reports from the leading lights of the underground who have all given the mixer a big thumbs up.

DJ Mag tripped out to Loveland Festival in Amsterdam over the weekend, for a ripper 24 hours of epic tunes, intermittent sunshine and plenty of 4AM frites with mayo! 

Kicking off at Sloterpark just short of the city centre, highlights included live performances from Gui Boratto and homegrown heroes Detroit Swindle, plus slamming techno sets from Irish don Matador, Canadian legend Richie Hawtin, and Cocoon bossman Sven Vath. 

Warehouse Project has announced the line-up for its 12 week 2016 edition, which takes place at their Store Street venue between Friday 23rd September and Sunday 1st January.

This year Warehouse Project will also host individual events at Manchester Academy, Old Granada Studios and The Albert Hall.

Mihalis Safras has remixed Marco Carola’s ‘Play It Loud’, which sees release through Circus Recordings today (4th July). And we have the exclusive premiere of the track below.

The original ‘Play It Loud’ featured on Carola’s album of the same name, which landed via Richie Hawtin’s Minus Recordings in 2008. Safras recently sent his version to Circus Recordings boss Yousef, and it went on to receive plays from both the label-head as well as Carola himself.

The hype that came with the announcement of Richie Hawtin releasing a new DJ/music-related product was immense. The internet was at bursting point, with everyone trying to second-guess what exactly would be released — and when. This all came about when Richie held a (impromptu) press conference at this year's NAMM conference back in January.

Polaris Festival returns for a second year with yet another barrage of top notch headliners.

Taking over the Le Mouton Noir, a retreat high up in the Swiss Alps, from 9th-11th December, the festival welcomes the likes of Moodymann, Richie Hawtin, Dixon, Deetron and more to its frosty booths.

Night Tales has announced full details for its London summer series, which opens every Friday and Saturday from 24th June, with a closing party on Sunday 28th August.

Music takeovers from Dimensions, Electric Miles, Future Disco and Juicebox all head to Night Tales’ new location, which is at an old stone merchant and car scrap yard on Hepscott Street in Hackney Wick.

The 10-week celebration includes Dimensions Soundsystem, Stephane Ghenacia, Eddie Richards, Jef K and Hito all on deck, as well Richie Hawtin’s first ever pop-up sake bar in London, Tales of ENTER.sake.
