FRANCK ROGER: BELIEVE THE HYPE
The first time he heard ‘Promised Land’ by Joe Smooth, says 38-year-old French DJ/producer Franck Roger, he was desperate to find out everything he could about house music. Back then, when that record came out, he was too young to get into the Paris nightclubs that played the tune. So, instead, he fuelled his desire for the 4/4-driven tracks from Chicago and the US that he heard on Radio FG — played by the likes of DJ Gregory and DJ Deep — by going record shopping.
EASTERN ELECTRICS WELCOMES STEVE LAWLER
Eastern Electrics Festival have revealed that VIVa Warriors main man Steve Lawler will join the main stage line-up on Saturday August 2nd.
Laura Jones, Dyed Soundorom, Mano le Tough, Boddika and Daniel Avery also join the bill, which already features some of the top names in underground dance music, including Art Department, Kerri Chandler and Route 94.
MYLO BOUNCES BACK!
Mylo, the DJ/producer who made a huge mark when he burst onto the scene a decade ago with his 'Destroy Rock & Roll' album, has just been announced as joining the line-up for the Big Beach Ball in Aberdeen on Sunday 4th May.
The Scottish artist has been somewhat quiet in recent years, with gigs and releases few and far between, but it appears that he's now bouncing back.
KERRI CHANDLER 'SUNDAY SUNLIGHT' PREMIERE
The New Jersey master's 1999 homage to dawn's early light has been given a re-outing on the French trio's lauded imprint.
Classic Chandler in every sense, robust 4/4s thump under muffled shuffling hi-hats, a viscous bassline and soft airy chords, while Kerri's own supple vocals are surprisingly soulful.

As the August Bank Holiday Weekend approaches, Warehouse LDN have revealed the final line ups for their Saturday and Sunday night events, as well as two more taking place on the following weekend.
