The trailer for a new UK rave culture drama called 'Beats' has been unveiled ahead of its release to UK and Ireland cinemas on May 17th. 

Produced by Steven Soderbergh, featuring music from Optimo's JD Twitch and directed by Brian Welsh (whose previous credits include 'Black Mirror'), the film is set in Scotland during the summer of 1994 and follows a pair of friends as they get to grips with the free party scene of the time before they separate as adulthood awaits.

Human Traffic 2 is definitely happening, the original film’s writer and director Justin Kerrigan has confirmed.

Kerrigan made the announcement over the weekend at a 20th anniversary celebration for the 1999 cult classic. Danny Dyer, Shaun Parkes, Nicola Reynolds and more of the beloved original cast are set to reprise their roles for the long awaited sequel.

“We’re doing Human Traffic 2!” Kerrigan declared at the event, “It’s about one race, the human race, and a reaction to Brexit. We love you people and we can’t wait to see you again.”

Eric Andre has announced that a character from The Eric Andre Show, Kraft Punk, will be getting his own show dedicated to political debate and EDM.

The character – a haunting, discount, cheese-loving prankster in a sort of Daft Punk helmet – will be at the heart of a new show, KRFT Punk’s Political Party, which debuts on adult swim on 8th March.

The show is described as a “political debate show set to EDM music,” and it will cover “conspiracy theories to race relations to Satan's influence on the electorate”.

There’s a Kevin & Perry Go Large rave brunch taking place on Saturday 14th July at Level Digbeth, Birmingham.

The pair will be spinning ’90s music in a secret warehouse, with Kevin reportedly dropping the brand new remix of his track, 'All I Want to Do Is Do It', whilst Perry is organising the brunch day-to-night Ibiza rave.

Mrs Patterson will be pouring bottomless cocktails from 1pm-2pm and superstar DJ Eye Ball Paul will be spinning on the night.

Candice and Gemma will also be in attendance! No word yet on whether there will be any jam sandwiches.

A new documentary, The Man From Mo’Wax will chart the ongoing influence of pioneering UK electronic figure James Lavelle, whose presence in the scene as a DJ, producer and label head remains pivotal today, nearly three decades into his career.

The film, which is set for release on 31st August, starts from the beginning of the artist’s trajectory, playing his first DJ set aged 14. Lavelle would go on to launch his Mo’Wax label aged 18 and would subsequently release one of the most influential albums in UK electronic music’s history, DJ Shadow’s ‘Entroducing’.

Pharrell Williams is reportedly producing a film adaptation of young adult novel SURVIVE THE NIGHT. The book follows a group of female college students trapped inside an underground warehouse rave on Halloween night.

Da Silva seamless splices together club scenes from Carlito’s Way, Saturday Night Fever, The Terminator, Collateral, Star Wars and John Wick to create a fictional universe where John Travolta, Al Pacino, Uma Thurman and Tom Cruise bump shoulders on the dancefloor.
