A new feature length film about electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire will premiere online next week as part of the BFI London Film Festival. 

Delia Derbyshire: The Myths & The Legendary Tapes has been soundtracked by Cosey Fanni Tutti and tells the story of the life, work and influence of Derbyshire, who worked with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and is known for, among other things, creating the iconic theme music for Doctor Who. 

Turn Up Charlie, the sitcom co-created by and starring Idris Elba as a struggling DJ, has been cancelled after one season. 

The series premiered in March 2019, and found the Wire and Luther star playing a middle aged DJ grasping for his last chance at success, hired as a nanny for his famous friend’s daughter.

Daft Punk may not be scoring the new film from Dario Argento after all. 

A statement shared by the producers of the Italian directors new film, Occhiali Neri (Black Glasses), clarifies that no official agreement has been made for Daft Punk to produce its score.

The trailer for a documentary about iconic Birmingham techno venue Que Club, called In The Que, has landed. You can watch it below.

Released in May, the documentary charts the Que Club's thirty-year history, from when it first opened its doors in 1989.

The project, headed up by researcher Jez Collins of Birmingham Music Archive C.I.C., is happening through a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £42,000.

'Terms and Conditions' a new feature-length documentary film about UK drill, is out now. 

UK drill artists Skengdo x AM have been quoted, talking about 'Terms and Conditions' saying: "Through this documentary, we hope people will better understand the people and the community behind drill music. Deleting drill is not an option. It's a creative expression that tells the story of our lives and experience." 

The book will be published in April in the US and May in the UK via Oxford University Press. 

Written by musicologist Amanda Sewell, the biography follows the unique life and career of the composer whose work has been crucial in bringing synthesizer music to the mainstream. Wendy Carlos worked on albums such as Switched-On Bach, Sonic Seasonings as well as the scores for A Clockwork Orange, The Shining ad Tron. 

For her album, Switched-On Bach, Carlos won three Grammys, as well as being awarded into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. 

Gorillaz have released the trailer for their documentary, 'Reject False Icons'. 

Last week DJ Mag reported on news of the forthcoming movie, which will screen in cinemas for one night only on Monday 16th December. Charting the making of and accompanying tours for both the 'Humanz' and 'The Now Now' albums, the film has been directed by Denholm Hewlett, son of band co-founder Jamie Hewlett.

The soundtrack to Boyz n the Hood is set to be released on double vinyl.

Spanning hip hop, funk, jazz and R&B, the soundtrack to John Singleton's 1991 coming-of-age classic will be released on 2LP via Qest on 27th September. The soundtrack features tracks from the likes of Ice Cube, Quincy Jones, Main Source and CMW.

When it was originally released back in 1991, the soundtrack reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S.

The official soundtrack for forthcoming UK rave culture film 'Beats' is available to stream now.

Produced by Steven Soderbergh and directed by Brian Welsh (whose previous credits include 'Black Mirror'), the film is set in Scotland during the summer of 1994 and follows a pair of friends as they get to grips with the free party scene of the time before they separate as adulthood awaits. In the process, the film's writers Brian Welsh and Kieran Hurley offer a gripping look back to early days of the UK's rave scene.
